TanGoa :

Argentine Tango in Goa, India.
From 10 dec 2009 till 4 march
classes in Argentine Tango twice a week.
Levels : beginners and intermediate.
After the classes there will be a 'practica', that means continued dancing in the same space as the classes but without further instruction. A place to practice what you've learned and with the teacher on hand to answer any questions.
On friday nights there will be milonga ( a salon for social dancing) where all tangolovers can come together and enjoy in the dancing.
If all goes well im intending to invite other professional tango teachers and/or couples to come by and give workshops.
Throughout these three months I will be your host/teacher. Im inviting everybody that would like to learn the tango but never did, to come and have a go at the first steps. And all the others that already take part in the tangocommunity worldwide to take a trip to beautiful Goa and enjoy the benefit of having a tangofilled tropical holiday !

Goa can be found on the south-western side of India.
Its the smallest state of India with Panjim as its capital.
Its basically a long strip of palmfringed coastline, beautiful soft white sand beaches, lapped by the warm waters of the Arabian Sea. On top of that it boasts tropical forests, happy smiling locals and lots of exciting tropical delights.

TanGoa is located around one of the best known northern beaches called Anjuna.
To westerners Goa has long been famous mostly for its beautiful beaches and a very, liberal lifestyle ever since Anjuna was discovered by the Beatles in the sixties of the last century.
Besides the chilled out beachlife and famous raveparties, there is a lot of other things happening during the winter months in Goa.
All along the northern beaches Anjuna, Vagator, Morjim, Ashwem etc. there is lots of high level yoga classes-and retreats on offer. From Ashtanga to Vinyasa style yoga, basically every type of yoga is catered for, tought by professional-western- teachers.( check out Brahmani Yoga and Purple Valley retreat ).
Theres meditation courses and Ayurvedic massages for a total relaxation.
For the more adventurous there is kitesurfing and paragliding.

Also if u travel inland from the beaches, Goa has got some beautiful wildlife on offer, together with a rich, portugese and hindu cultural heritage.
Tango is fairly new to India but in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore thriving tango communities are forming thus making the global tango family forever expanding.

If you happen to be around India or heading that way during the months of dec. till march 2010, come and enjoy some tango fun in Goa!
So don't forget to bring some dancing shoes ;-)
I will be posting more details about the location of the classes and milonga very shortly on this blog, TanGoa facebook group and www.tangoindia.in

Hope to see you soon in a 'sunset-palmfringed' milonga in Goa !

untill then,
Happy milonqeuando!
